When will my bin be emptied?
You can check your bin collection day, anytime on the Blackpool Council website. All you need is your postcode. Please note, this does not work for commercial bin collections.
When will my green bin be emptied?
This is a subscription-only service. Typically, your green waste will be collected on the same day as your blue recycling bin every two weeks. This will be confirmed via email at the time of subscribing to the service.

How do I report a damaged or stolen bin?
From 1 April 2020 repairs of wheels and lids on wheeled bins are no longer free of charge. There is now a replacement charge of £16. To learn more please go to the Blackpool council page.

Why do I pay for my bin?
Blackpool Council has no budget for wheeled bins and a charging policy applies to replace wheeled bins. The charge for a replacement bin is £16 per bin however new build properties are charged £30 per bin.

Blackpool Council in partnership with the charity Furniture Matters, offer large item collections called Bulky Matters. It cost’s £20.50 for up to 3 items. You can book Bulky Item collections on the Blackpool council website.

Can I drive a van to the Tip (Household Waste Recyling Centre)?
For any van drivers please follow the below terms:
- Vans, pickups, and cars towing trailers must purchase a permit and other vehicles will not be allowed on site. Please check the permit scheme list before visiting
- No sign-written vehicles will be allowed on site
- Vans and trailers are not permitted during weekends
- Vans, pickups, and cars towing trailers must attend the site no later than 30 minutes before the site closes
- Vans, pickups, and cars towing trailers are not permitted at weekends
- Vans and pickups will not be permitted with a trailer

Alley Gate Questions
How do I order a replacement alley gate key?
You can order replacement alley gate keys, on the Blackpool Council website.
Please note the below before ordering:
- For replacement keys the cost is £8 and will only be issued to those entitled
- You may be asked to produce evidence before a key is issued. Keys will only be delivered to properties within the gating scheme
- Where there is a need, extra keys will be provided at the same cost as the original key for your family and friends
- Please note: Due to current working arrangements delivery of alley gate keys may take slightly longer than normal
How do I get my alley gate fixed?
You can report an alley gate fault to Blackpool Council at any time. Responses aim to be completed 48 hours.
Where we can, we will repair it when we visit. If we need to order parts or use a contractor, then it may take up to 4 weeks to complete the work.
It will help when reporting the fault to have the location of the gate and the gate number which can be found on the plate fixed to the post.

How do I book a M.O.T?
This professional and reliable service is for Class IV, V, and VII vehicles, cars, minibusses, and light commercial vehicles.
The cost of M.O.T is just £50 per vehicle (free re-test within 10 working days if needed).

How do i book a taxi inspection?
To book your taxi inspection contact Blackpool Council’s Licensing team on 01253 478343.
If the vehicle passes inspection, you will be issued a certificate of compliance. Otherwise, the relevant work must be carried out and the vehicle brought back for a re-test before the certificate can be issued.

How do I report that my commercial bin has not been emptied?
Commercial Waste bin collections operate Monday to Friday from 6.00am and 4.00pm- so please ensure your bin is presented and accessible between these times.
If your bin hasn’t been collected by 4.00pm then please report it on the Blackpool council website within 48 hours.
