Dog Fouling

In Blackpool, it is an offence to allow your dog to mess in a public area.

If you are found to not clean up after your dog, you can be fined up to £100 which, if not paid, can rise to a fine of £1,000.

Blackpool Council has made every public bin in Blackpool available to take dog mess so please ensure that you pick it up straightaway and put it in a bin.

Reporting dog fouling

You are welcome to report a dog fouling problems.

The reported dog mess will be picked up on the next planned street cleaning round and the information given will help us target problem areas.

When reporting, it will help if you have the following information:

  • Your name and address
  • The name and address of the owner if known
  • Where and when it happened
  • A description of the dog
