Hi, Jessica Christian
The Bag It, Bin It, Campaign!
No excuses! Every time. Bag it. Bin it.
We’re bringing Bag It, Bin It back for 2026/27 with a clear message: No excuses! Every time. Bag it. Bin it. We’re encouraging all dog owners to do their bit to keep Blackpool’s streets, parks and public spaces clean and enjoyable for everyone.
Most dog owners already do the right thing, but dog fouling remains an issue in some areas. Dog waste isn’t just unpleasant – it can pose health risks, particularly in places where children play. Always carry a dog waste bag, pick up after your dog and use a public litter bin. If there isn’t one nearby, take it home.
Research from Keep Britain Tidy highlights that dog fouling can increase during the darker months, when some owners may feel less visible. Its We’re Watching You campaign demonstrated how effective visible reminders can be, achieving reductions in dog fouling of up to 46% in trial areas.
That’s why, as in previous years, our campaign will run from the end of October through to February, reminding dog owners that their responsibility doesn’t change when the nights draw in.
And remember, failing to clean up after your dog can result in a £100 Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) under Blackpool Council’s dog control rules.
Help us tackle dog fouling
Is dog fouling causing a problem in your neighbourhood? We want to hear about it! You can report dog fouling to Blackpool Council or request one of our Bag It, Bin It pavement stencils to help remind dog owners to clean up after their pets.

Stencil requests are considered based on location suitability and operational capacity.

Building on previous years
Since launching in 2023, Bag It, Bin It has become a familiar campaign across Blackpool. From engaging with dog walkers and local communities to installing pavement stencils and displaying awareness posters, we’ve been working alongside Blackpool Council to encourage responsible dog ownership.
We’re proud of the support the campaign has received over the years and want to thank everyone who has played their part. This year’s campaign builds on that work, with a stronger focus on awareness, responsibility and keeping Blackpool clean.
Together, let’s sort it.
