HEAT WAVE
Enveco NW and Blackpool Council Services Waste and Environmental Services Adapt During Amber Heat Health Alert
The health, safety and well-being of staff remains our priority during periods of extreme weather.
To help minimise staff exposure to the highest temperatures and UV levels on frontline teams, domestic waste, commercial waste and street cleansing services will commence at 5am on Wednesday 24 June, Thursday 25 June and Friday 26 June.
We will continue to monitor the weather conditions and communicate any changes to residents as soon as we can.
We are supporting staff working in the heat. Additional measures have been put in place, including regular breaks, advice on rehydration and sunscreen.
Residents can help support crews by:
- Presenting wheeled bins/bags the night before their scheduled collection day.
• If you are in a bagged area, please try to cover bags up where possible to reduce animals getting to the bags - Report any issues via the blackpool.gov.uk
We would like to thank residents for their understanding and patience while these temporary measures are in place.
The safety of our staff and the continued delivery of essential services remain our priority as we operate our services during the hot weather.
