Who is responsible for your data?

Blackpool Waste Services trading as Enveco NW is a wholly owned company of Blackpool Council. We have a data-sharing agreement between the client and contractor.

Why do we collect your information?

By law, local authorities must be able to provide a commercial waste service to businesses within their authority. We need your information in order to carry out refuse/recycling service collections, send out any relevant documentation, and also receive payment for the service.

Information is not kept for longer than necessary, as per our retention schedule.

What is our lawful basis?

The UK GDPR Article 6 lawful basis for Enveco to collect and use your personal information is because:

  • Article 6(c) – Legal Obligation – Compliance with a legal obligation.
  • Article 6(b) – Contract – It is necessary for a contract you have, or because you have asked us to take specific steps before entering into a contract.

The relevant statutes that underpins the processing are;

  • Environment Act 2021
  • Environmental Protection Act 1990
  • The Waste (England and Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2014
  • The Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011

The Controlled Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2012

What types of information do we collect?

  • Address of business and or home address
  • Contact number
  • Email address
  • Bank details

Who do we share your information with?

We will share your information with other council services this can include our Enforcement Team. Other Council Services where it is necessary to ensure you are receiving services to help you.

Blackpool Council’s wholly owned company ENVECO who will carry out the service of collections and administration on our behalf. Other organisations if we are required to do so by law or ordered to do so by a court.

We do not transfer your information to a third country (that is a country outside of the EEA).

How long do we keep your information for?

Information is not kept for longer than necessary, as per our retention schedule.
