Who is responsible for your data?

Blackpool Waste Services trading as Enveco NW is a wholly owned company of Blackpool Council. We have a data sharing agreement between the client and contractor.

Why do we collect your information?

The Household Waste Recycling Centre offers a permit service for Blackpool residents to allow them to bring inert waste, rubble, and plasterboard into the household waste recycling centre.

We collect this information to allow us to carry out checks to ensure the permit is issued in accordance with the terms and conditions of the permit application process.

We will retain your details for a period of 24 months following the expiry of the permit.

What is our lawful basis?

The UK GDPR Article 6 lawful basis for Enveco to collect and use your personal information is because:

  • Article 6(c) – Legal Obligation – Compliance with a legal obligation.

The Environmental Permit at the HWRC is governed by Section 33 of the Environmental Protection Act as well as the Environmental Permitting Regulations and requires the Council to have controls over the waste we accept at the site.

Additionally, enforcement action is taken if customers abuse the permit, for example, by bringing commercial waste onto the site under the guise of a domestic customer-issued permit.

What types of information do we collect?

When you submit an application we will collect your name, address, telephone number, contact number and vehicle registration mark.

Who do we share your information with?

Enveco NW may share information with Blackpool Council in accordance with the data sharing agreement if deemed necessary as part of civil/criminal investigations.

We will also share your information with others if we are required to do so by law or ordered to do so by a court.

We do not transfer your information to a third country (that is a country outside of the EEA).
