Household waste changes

Big changes to Blackpool’s waste collection services have been agreed by Blackpool Council’s Executive. This complies with the new government legislation known as Simpler Recycling.

Simpler Recycling will enable consistent, more streamlined collections from all households, businesses, and relevant non-domestic premises (such as schools and hospitals) across the country and will come into force in April 2026.

Our teams have been working hard to install and deliver the new bin hubs, roll out the larger blue bins in Phase One, replace brown sacks with brown bins, and now deliver food caddies.

To make these changes possible, many residents will have a new bin collection day. Check your bin day today!
